We study the optical properties of ZnO:Fe films fabricated using ultrafast spray pyrolysis. Solvent variations were conducted using aqua dest, isopropyl alcohol, and ethanol. As a result, the films were successfully grown on ITO-coated glass substrates, as shown by SEM images. Using Tauc-plot approximation, the calculated bandgap is 3.22 eV (aqua dest), 3.28 eV (isopropyl alcohol), and 3.30 eV (ethanol). Interestingly, there is a relation between the bandgap and the boiling point of solvents. This study is important to improve ZnO materials for optoelectronic applications. © 2023 Author(s).
