Abstract

Photovoltaic Generation Systems are increasingly developing as a clean and sustainable renewable energy alternative. To ensure optimal efficiency and performance of Solar Power Generation Systems, an advanced monitoring system is required. This research aims to design and develop a Solar Power Generation Systems monitoring system based on the Internet of Things (IoT), which enables real-time data collection on the performance of solar panels. The system utilizes the ESP8266 microcontroller, direct current (DC) sensor PZEM-017, and AC sensor PZEM-004, along with the Blynk application for online monitoring. This monitoring tool can track DC parameters such as current, voltage, power, and energy, as well as alternating curretn (AC) parameters such as power, voltage, current, energy, frequency, power factor (cos-phi), reactive power, and apparent power. The data is transmitted and monitored through the Blynk application on Android devices, allowing for remote monitoring without the need for on-site visits, thereby reducing operational costs and enhancing maintenance efficiency. The results indicate that this system is effective in monitoring Photovoltaic Power Generation Systems performance and provides essential information for timely maintenance, reducing downtime, and improving the operational efficiency of Photovoltaic Power Generation Systems. © 2024 IEEE.
