There has been a significant demand in literacies for students to accommodate the changes in students’ economic behavior. This study aims to understand how educator competencies impact the economic behavior of university students and confirms the mediating role of digital and economic literacy. The primary data were retrieved from 546 Indonesian university students using online questionnaires with a self-administered survey. A covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM) was involved to confirm the proposed hypothesis. The findings indicate that lecturer competencies significantly affect economic literacy, digital literacy, and economic behavior among university students. In addition, this study confirms the role of economic and digital literacy in mediating the linkage between lecturer competencies and economic behavior. Therefore, understanding the determinants of the economic behavior of students allows educational institutions to create support systems and programs to deal with either academic achievement or behavior. © 2024 The Authors
