Abstract

Learning basic programming is important as a programming guide or foundation that provides the basics of logic in creating programs. Some students expressed a lack of interest in learning the basics of software and game development. Less flexible and less attractive teaching media can reduce student interest in learning. Therefore, researchers developed learning media using gamification with a website-based problem-based learning model. This study aims to determine the performance and measure the feasibility and effectiveness of website learning media with gamification using the problem-based learning model in basic software development and game subjects. This research was conducted using the Borg & Gall research and development model consisting of data collection, planning, initial product development, initial product testing and revision, small-scale trials and revision, and large-scale trials. This research and development resulted in a website learning media product with gamification using the Problem-Based Learning model that can be accessed online which obtained a media expert validation value of 9 2. 6 1 % or very feasible, the acquisition of a material expert validation value of 92.50% or very feasible, the acquisition of a small-scale trial value of 88.21% or very feasible, then the acquisition of a large-scale trial value of 9 0. 0 0 % or very feasible, and an increase in learning interest obtained a gain value of 0.43 after using website learning media with gamification using the problem based learning model, from a percentage of 7 0. 3 2 % to 8 3. 0 6 % with a moderate increase category. © 2024 IEEE.
