This study aims to analyse the influence of technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK), administrative literacy, social support, and career success criteria on career decision self-efficacy (CDSE), either directly or through career adaptability, as a mediating variable. This study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The samples were 134 preservice office administration teachers in Indonesia selected using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires developed on the basis of indicators of each construct. All instruments met the validity criteria with p-values < 0.05 and showed reliability with Cronbach’s alpha values ≥ 0.6, suitable for future measurements. The data were analysed using structural equation modelling (SEM) method. The results revealed that all independent variables, i.e., TPACK, administrative literacy, social support, and the career success criterion, had a significant effect on CDSE through career adaptability. The findings of this study show that students' confidence in making career decisions is strongly influenced by their readiness to face future career dynamics as well as external and internal factors during the education process. Career adaptability, as a mediating variable, has an important role to prepare prospective teachers to be more adaptable, resilient, and competent in their future use of technology. This study contributes to the development of social cognitive career theory (SCCT) and social learning theory of career decision making (SLTCDM) and provides practical implications for universities to strengthen their curriculum, learning experiences, and career guidance services. Thus, the results of this study can provide a foundation for designing career development strategies that are more adaptive and relevant for prospective educators and office administration practitioners in Indonesia. © 2026, Malque Publishing.
