Abstract

This research aims to assist the government in the development process which is centered on empowering village communities. The concept of participatory empowerment was adopted to increase village communities' economic growth. This concept is applied in Pakisjajar Village, Malang Regency in the process of processing both (solid and liquid) cow waste into compost. This research uses a qualitative method with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. Researchers have a role as facilitators and are considered very important in developing the Pakisjajar village community. The development of a PAR approach model can help communities or organizations meet basic needs and become a tool to increase the income of the Pakisjajar village community in the long term. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
