Palm plant (arrenga pinnata) has a natural dyes green in its leaves. The green dyes is due to the high chlorophyll content in the palm leaves. Extraction of chlorophyll from palm leaves can be used as an absorber of light waves and a source of electrons in solar cells. Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) is a solar cell with an electrochemical principle in which dyes that are sensitive to light waves are absorbed in the coating. Organic plant dyes function to absorb light and provide electrons for DSSC. Some of the advantages of DSSC are cheap in fabrication, easy production and friendly to the environment. DSSC is composed of several layers, namely electrodes, semiconductors, dyes, electrolytes and counter electrodes. The potential of palm leaves (arrenga pinnata) as a photosensitizer in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells is attempted to be explored through this research. The research was conducted by varying the adsorption of chlorophyll content derived from palm leaf extraction, namely 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% to the TiO2 semiconductor layer in order to obtain the efficiency of the DSSC. UV-Vis spectrophotometer testing was carried out to determine the chlorophyll content in palm leaves. Voltage and current measurements on the DSSC are carried out to determine the efficiency of the DSSC. Based on the research results, the 100% chlorophyll content of palm leaves, namely 3,6741 mg/m3, has the highest DSSC efficiency with a value of 1,36%. © 2024 American Institute of Physics Inc..
