Environmental literacy is an individual's ability to build an understanding of the main concepts based on phenomena and apply knowledge to improve environmental problems. Environmental literacy focuses on real behaviour, not just knowledge about the environment. Problem-solving skills are one of the skills in the world of education that include the process of identifying problems, considering options, and making informed choices. This study aims to determine the relationship between problem-solving skills and environmental literacy of class X students at SMAN 8 Malang. The population in this study includes all students of class X at SMAN 8 Malang. The research sample was taken randomly from as many as 112 students of class X majoring in Mathematics and Natural Sciences at SMAN 8 Malang. The instrument used is a test of problem-solving skills based on Greenstein and an environmental literacy test based on the Middle School Environmental Literacy Survey. The results showed that the average problem-solving skills score of students was 1.9 in the medium category, and the average environmental literacy score was 279.3 in the medium category. Data analysis using Pearson Correlation obtained a significance value of 0.112 > 0.05. The correlation test shows that there is no relationship between the problem-solving skills and environmental literacy of class X students at SMAN 8 Malang. The results of the correlation test, which are not significant, indicate that further research is needed to determine the relationship between problem-solving skills indicators and environmental literacy indicators. © 2024 Author(s).
