Applied Bengawan Unmanned Vehicle (UV) Stationary-Dynamic Pond Monitoring System: Collaboration with Fish Cultivation Center

Abstract

Central Java’s fish farming industry faces significant losses due to bird pests, estimated at up to 30% annually. Arlink v1 was developed to address this, a solar-powered device utilizing Photovoltaic (PV) technology and the You Only Look Once (YOLO) object detection algorithm to monitor and repel pests, ensuring sustainable, continuous operation and enhancing productivity. Concurrently, the Bengawan Unmanned Vehicle Team, in collaboration with Universitas Sebelas Maret’s Community Partnership Program, developed the Mandakini EVO ship to improve aquaculture management. This ship has enhanced sensors and pest-repellent systems to ensure precise navigation and effective pest control. The research methodology incorporated experimental and simulation methods, using experimental methods to test navigation and sensor systems and stability assessment software for hull and propulsion analysis. The system demonstrated effective pest deterrence capabilities, maintaining optimal water conditions and protecting fish from bird pests. These findings highlight the efficacy of combining renewable energy with advanced technology to provide comprehensive, cost-effective solutions for enhancing the productivity and sustainability of Central Java’s fish farming industry.
