Theoretical Studies: Analysis of the Types of Bricks in the East Java Province Based on the Geographical Location of the Region

Abstract

In East Java, several types of bricks are commonly used: red bricks, lime bricks, and light bricks (hebel). This paper wants to analyze and provide other considerations to the public when using bricks, not only in terms of strength, ease of application, and cost but also paying attention to the geographical aspects of an area. This research uses quantitative methods and secondary data. The application and analysis are adopted from [1], who has two main components: data collection and data analysis. Each region in East Java has unique geographical characteristics, with areas with high humidity, high water content, and good fertility because they have volcanoes. That's why brick types are used in three zones: the north, central, and south. Adopting these three zones is more suitable because they have informed the characteristics of each region in East Java. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.
