Abstract

Dieting is crucial for achieving ideal body weight or adopting healthier lifestyles, requiring precise calorie tracking due to varying food nutritional content. To address this, we developed an IoT-based system to monitor daily calorie intake, integrating a Load Cell sensor and HX711 module for accurate food measurement, with data transmitted via NodeMCU to Firebase Realtime Database and displayed on an OLED SSD1306 screen and Flutter-based mobile app. The app manages food data in Cloud Firestore, calculates BMI/BMR, and tracks real-time calorie consumption. Testing confirmed high sensor accuracy (<3% error) and reliable Firebase data transmission, while the app successfully displayed synchronized data and provided dietary insights. The fully integrated system effectively supports low-calorie diet management through real-time monitoring and user-friendly interfaces, demonstrating robust hardware-software synergy for personalized nutrition tracking. Future enhancements will incorporate AI-driven food recognition to expand functionality. © 2025 IEEE.
