This study goal is to evaluate the effectiveness of data-driven decision making (DDDM) by school principals in Indonesia using a quantitative approach. DDDM refers to a systematic methodology that utilizes data as the basis for making informed decisions. The study examines four measurement dimensions: technology infrastructure and hardware, data literacy, data usage culture, and data usage purpose. A total of 242 school principals with diverse backgrounds participated. Findings indicate that school principals generally hold positive perceptions across all four DDDM dimensions, with average scores exceeding 4. Spearman's correlation test reveals significant positive relationships among the dimensions, particularly between data usage culture and data usage purpose. However, the Kruskal-Wallis test shows no significant differences in data usage purpose based on principals' tenure or the school's geographic location. The study concludes that strengthening the data usage culture and principals' data literacy along with promoting equitable access to technological infrastructure, are key to improving the effectiveness of DDDM in Indonesian schools. © 2025 IEEE.
