Local cultural heritage faces significant challenges due to the declining interest of Generation Z in traditional products such as Dinoyo ceramic crafts in Malang. This generation tends to prioritize interactive, instant, and easily accessible digital content, necessitating innovative approaches to cultural preservation. This study aims to develop the Ceramic Art Dinoyo (CAD) platform, an AI-based chatbot system designed to support cultural education and adaptive digital promotion tailored to the characteristics of young people. The system's development is grounded in design thinking principles, enabling a deep understanding of Generation Z's needs and the creation of relevant, human-centered solutions. The development process was carried out iteratively through the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test, and evaluate. The results of the testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS) showed a score of 61.75, and the Net Promoter Score (NPS) value of 65% reflects the CAD platform's good usability and high user loyalty. Overall, the user experience (UX) design received positive feedback due to its ease of navigation, visual interactions, and the use of an AI chatbot for instant information. The AI chatbot system developed in this study introduces a new approach to preserving local culture by integrating cultural education and digital promotion in an adaptive manner. This interactive approach is deemed more relevant to the preferences of the younger generation while also promoting the sustainability of cultural heritage preservation efforts in the digital age. © 2025 IEEE.
