The limited employment opportunities in vocational fields and the challenge of efficiently integrating technology to validate the skills of graduates are contributing factors that required system support in this case. A portfolio is a document utilized during the recruitment process to demonstrate skills that have been transformed into a system that assists graduates in showing their skills through project examples. The development of e-portfolios using design-based research (DBR) will be classified into six different phases. Each phase of the development process has a specific aim, generally consisting of product initialization, identification of needs through problem analysis and solution design, product design, product coding, product evaluation, and final product release. The adoption of DBR with the innovative product development steps in this chapter will assist in developing a system to support the career development of vocational graduates and increase their opportunities to join the industry. © 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing.
