Abstract

This study explores adolescents' preferences and perceived needs in the development of a digital self-help platform for survivors of sexual harassment. Using a cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from 120 participants aged 15-25 across Indonesia via a reputable digital research platform. The study assessed confidence levels in three digital media formats (mobile applications, websites, and digital books) across three key dimensions: security, privacy, and usability. Results indicate a statistically significant preference for mobile applications (p < 0.001), which were perceived as the most secure, private, and user-friendly platforms. Participants also expressed strong functional demands for trauma-informed features, including private journaling, anonymous peer spaces, real-time progress tracking, and emergency panic buttons. Interface preferences emphasized soft color schemes, gender-neutral design, theme customization, and the avoidance of stigmatizing symbols. These findings underscore the importance of privacy, personalization, and emotional safety in digital intervention design. The study offers actionable insights and user-driven recommendations for building mobile-first, trauma-sensitive platforms that support psychological recovery and user autonomy among adolescent survivors. Future research is encouraged to validate these preferences through longitudinal studies and diverse population testing. © 2025 IEEE.
