Despite the increasing use of Learning Management System (LMS) platforms, a noticeable voidexists in comprehending their influence on students’learning outcomes, particularly within the sphere of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses designed for Islamic undergraduate students. This study aims to address this gap by evaluating the effectiveness of an LMS-based ESP course in improving learning outcomes and self-efficacy among Islamic undergraduate students. Using a pre-experimental design with a single group, pre- and post-tests were conducted with 35 Islamic undergraduate students at STAI Diponegoro Tulungagung. Additionally, a closed-ended questionnaire measured self-efficacy. The results showed significant improvements in both learning outcomes and self-efficacy, as reflected in higher test scores and increased confidence levels. Nevertheless, challenges such as technical difficulties and limited access to resources have been recognized as potential hindrances to effective implementation. These findings underscore the imperative for further refinement of LMS-based ESP courses to more adeptly cater to the distinct requirements of Islamic undergraduate students. Consequently, the implications of these findings necessitate tailored strategies aimed at optimizing LMS-based ESP courses, including targeted interventions to mitigate technical barriers and enhance resource accessibility, thereby fostering more conducive learning environments for Islamic undergraduate students.
