Abstract

The digital era and technology provide opportunities to create learning media that attract students' interest and are effective for developing mathematical abilities. The development of media in the form of educational games is an innovation that is expected to attract students' interest in developing mathematical abilities. This development research aims to produce a valid, practical, and effective multilevel educational game based on Unity on integer material. The development method in this research uses the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The educational game produced in this development is entitled "Ryan's Adventure. This game is structured in a multilevel manner, containing material and questions about integers. The data collection method used was a questionnaire involving experts and students. Validity tests are carried out to test the validity of the media and the validity of the material. Small group trials were carried out on five students, and large-scale trials were carried out on 31 students from the VIIth grade at UM Laboratory Secondary School. The results of the media validity test for this game were declared valid. Meanwhile, for practicality, it was declared a very practical criterion. The average student's score for mathematics ability shows the product in the effective criteria. Based on these results, this educational game shows the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
