The challenges of globalization in the world of education require teachers and students to have 21st-century skills, namely Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity (4C). Critical and creative thinking skills are included in the scope of higher-order thinking (HOT). This research is a qualitative exploratory case study that aims to explore how Prospective Mathematics Teachers (PMTs) notice students' HOT in the case of learning videos. The elective course program is designed to describe noticing PMTs in observing students' HOT in learning videos case. 34 PMTs were involved in the study. Subject selection was carried out by purposive sampling method to obtain more detailed and in-depth data. The instructional process consists of 2 stages, In the first stage PMTs observe video learning cases and write down the results of their observations on an open observation sheet. In the second stage, PMTs analyze students' HOT in the case of learning videos and present the results through interviews. Data collection was carried out using research instruments in the form of open observation sheets, interview guidelines, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study show that the cases in the learning videos analyzed by PMTs have succeeded in becoming a catalyst for generating and developing PMTs noticing students' HOT and can become the basis for PMTs proposing new pedagogical strategies aimed at stimulating students' HOT. PMTs noticing skills in the attending category include attending small-scale cases and detailing student strategies. The interpreting category includes interpreting details of student's strategies and analysis of evidence. As well as in the responding category including deciding how to respond, give suggestions, and connect suggestions with evidence. © 2025 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.
