Cases of environmental pollution caused by lead are increasing day by day. The purpose of this study was to analyze the behavior of D. melanogaster, who had been exposed to lead. D. melanogaster wildtype strain exposed to lead for 10 generations at concentrations of 1000 ppm, 1500 ppm, and 2000 ppm were selected as research subjects. After five generations of exposure were discontinued, tests of climbing ability and duration of climbing of adult D. melanogaster was performed, as well as observation of the pupation position of D. melanogaster. The results of data analysis using one-way ANOVA informed that the difference in lead concentration had a significant effect on climbing ability but had no significant effect on the length of time to climb and the position of the pupa. In conclusion, differences in lead exposure levels do not have a significant effect on the climbing behavior of flies, both in the adult and larval stages. © 2025 American Institute of Physics Inc..
