In the present day, where media controls, CML is crucial as it equips students with the tools they need to examine, comprehend, and produce media content. Students engage with diverse media, encountering accurate and deceptive content, making CML crucial for developing informed democratic citizens. Through cultivating critical thinking and proactive involvement in society, CML empowers students to identify reliable sources of information, recognize biases, and make significant contributions to public discourse. Effective CML learning fosters critical thinking, media literacy, and responsible citizenship, empowering students to participate successfully in society and deal with the challenges of the digital era. Overall, it is indispensable to integrate CML into the curriculum to develop knowledgeable, ethical, and involved citizens who can contribute to democracy and make judgments based on their knowledge. © The Author(s).
