The current development of counseling psychology in higher education is hindered by the limited availability of research instruments capable of effectively measuring self-actualization of college students. To address the issue, the analysis adopts College Student Self-Actualization Scale (CSSAS), originally developed by Ai, Huang, and Li, as its foundational framework. Therefore, this research aimed to adapt CSSAS to the Indonesian contexts and evaluate the psychometric properties among 449 students. The analysis used a quantitative research design by adapting the original measurement instruments to Indonesian context. Data analysis was conducted using Confirmatory Factor Analysis, along with assessments of Composite Reliability and Average Variance Extracted, facilitated by AMOS as well as SPSS version 26. The results of CFA confirmed the five dimensions of CSSAS, consisting of creativity, morality, self-acceptance, spontaneity, and problem-solving. The overall factor loadings exceed the threshold value, ranging from 0.521 to 0.894. Moreover, the model showed an acceptable fit to the data, with fit indices signifying Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) = 0.06 (< 0.08), Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) = 0.924 (> 0.90), Comparative Fit Index (CFI) = 0.961 (> 0.90), and Standardized Root Mean Residual (SRMR) = 0.015 (< 0.08). Reliability analysis further supported the internal consistency of the instrument, with CR values exceeding 0.70 and AVE values higher than 0.50. These results showed that Indonesian adaptation of CSSAS was a psychometrically sound instrument, reliably measuring self-actualization in the context of higher education. The strong validity and reliability of the model made it a promising tool for future research in the fields of counseling psychology and guidance, allowing analysis to use the instrument with confidence. © 2025 The Authors.
