Abstract

Probability has urgency in various contexts that is important to learn. However, there are still many student difficulties in probability topic, so it is necessary to develop an appropriate android-based learning media and accordance with technological advances. To improve the learning process, the designed media presents a distinctive solution by utilizing MIT App Inventor to develop interactive learning tools for Android, specifically tailored to probability topics, offering a novel method to enhance students' learning experiences. This research aims to create learning media using MIT App Inventor that is valid, practical, and effective on probability topic. This research uses the research and development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model. The research’s subjects were 21 seventh grade students at Wahid Hasyim Junior High School Malang as respondents as well as expert lecturers and mathematics teachers as validators. The research result is an apk. file named MP (Matematika Peluang or Math of Probability) that can be installed on an android device and has been valid with a media validation score of 3.25 and a material validation score of 3.37; practical with high criteria with a practicality score of 3.11; and effective with as many as 76.19% of students getting test scores above 78 (KKM). Suggestions for further research are explore optimizing the application for offline access, ensuring compatibility across various devices, and extending its application to other mathematical topics to increase its usability and effectiveness in different learning settings. © 2025 American Institute of Physics Inc..
