Abstract

Distribution can be defined as the process of distributing goods or services from the source, namely the producer, to the destination, namely the consumer. The transportation model is one approach that can be used to distribute products from the same sources to the required locations optimally. This issue was previously discussed by Busrah in his 2021 research at a factory located in Pinrang Regency, specifically the UD Batsur Factory, which is one of the distribution companies engaged in rice distribution. The UD Batsur rice factory in Pinrang Regency distributes its rice to various regions at the most optimal cost. In previous research, only one settlement method was used, namely the North West Corner (NWC) method, which resulted in a cost of IDR 9.679.000. The results were not optimal because there was a significant difference between the initial value and the optimal test, which resulted in IDR 9.535.000. This research aims to obtain optimal transportation costs using the Sirisha Viola method and the Supply Demand Repair Method (SDRM). These two methods were used to solve the rice distribution problem at UD Batsur in Pinrang Regency, providing optimal results compared to the previous method used, followed by an optimal test using the Modified Distribution (MODI).
