Bullying prevention has become a highly relevant topic in today's society. There are various ways to prevent bullying, one of which is the utilization of virtual reality to prevent bullying through the roles of bystanders and bullying victims, as well as simulating bullying scenarios to enhance bystander empathy. These findings provide crucial information about the role of virtual reality technology in effectively combating bullying. Therefore, it is necessary to map the potential gap between virtual reality and bullying prevention in terms of bystander behavior through comparative analysis. First, we identified publications on virtual reality and bullying prevention from the Scopus database. Then, measure the relationship between these publications based on the same references using comparative analysis. The result shows a knowledge gap regarding the influence of virtual reality use on bullying that is presented in the form of Social Network Analysis (SNA) visualization, descriptive analysis, and gap table mapping. © 2025 Author(s).
