21st century education requires students to have critical thinking skills to overcome societal problems in the technological era, but students' critical thinking skills in Static Fluid material are still low. Research on the application of APBL-STEAM assisted by digital mind mapping is still rarely used. This study aims to determine the effect of the APBL-STEAM learning model, assisted by digital mind mapping, on students' critical thinking skills in Static Fluid material. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. The population in this study were all students of class XI of SMA Negeri 3 Pamekasan, with sampling using cluster random sampling techniques with two classes selected, namely the experimental class with the APBL-STEAM model assisted by digital mind mapping with as many as 35 students and the control class with the APBL model with as many as 33 students. Data collection was carried out with critical thinking ability test questions with a reliability of 0.803. The data were analyzed quantitatively using the independent sample t test. The test results showed that APBL-STEAM, assisted by digital mind mapping was able to build critical thinking skills significantly better than APBL. Other results showed an increase in the total N-gain score of 0.595 (moderate) in the experimental class, while in the control class the total N-gain score was 0.220 (low). The increase in N-gain for each critical thinking sub-indicator in the experimental and control classes was analysis of possibility and uncertainty 0.729 (high) and 0.028 (low), argument analysis 0.662 (moderate) and 0.323 (moderate), reasoning 0.564 (moderate) and 0.301 (moderate), hypothesis testing 0.507 (moderate) and 0.141 (low), problem solving and decision making 0.481 (moderate) and 0.015 (low). The results showed that APBL-STEAM learning assisted by digital mind maps can significantly improve students' critical thinking skills. © 2025 Author(s).
