The research was conducted with the aim of describing the mathematical creative thinking ability of grade IX students at SMP Negeri 1 Pangkur, Ngawi in solving pythagorean theorem problems in terms of student brain dominance. The research method used was a qualitative approach of descriptive type. Prospective subjects in the study were class IXF students totaling 30 people. Based on the results of the questionnaire and the results of the description test, two right brain dominance students and two left brain dominance students were selected as research subjects. The source of data in the study in the form of test results, questionnaire sheets, and interview results. The instruments used are pythagorean theorem problems, questionnaires, and interview guidelines. Based on the results obtained, students with right brain dominance have fulfilled the creative thinking indicators of fluency, flexibility, and originality. However, students' answers are not organized, there are errors in the calculation process, and students conduct non-verbal conversations. While students with left brain are able to fulfill all indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency, flexibility, and originality, students with left brain dominance answer more structured, analytical and logical, without making mistakes in the calculation process. © 2025 American Institute of Physics Inc..
