Abstract

Software requirements prioritization is critical for efficient resource allocation in software development. This study proposes the Use Case-Based Genetic Algorithm and Analytical Hierarchy Process (UC-GA-AHP) method, which integrates use case diagrams, genetic algorithms (GA), and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to optimize prioritization. By leveraging use case relationships (include, extend, generalization) and GA's optimization capabilities, UC-GA-AHP reduces subjectivity and improves alignment with system goals. Evaluated on seven projects, UC-GA-AHP achieved an average Spearman correlation coefficient (ρ) of 0.856, outperforming UC-Based-AHP (ρ=0. 6 1 5). This method offers a robust, scalable solution for complex software projects, enhancing decision-making in early development phases © 2025 IEEE.
