This paper describes the proposed system, which is able to control, monitor and record the usage of home electrical devices. The system is designed to overcome the high cost and inflexible of electrical device's installation due to rearrange rooms, and the demand of user to be able to monitor the electrical usage. Here, the system was developed using microcontrollers equipped with WiFi modules, which are integrated to server via WiFi connections. The electrical usage of a device is detected using a current sensor and the data is sent to a microcontroller. Then, it is delivered to the server, which will send back the action control to the micro-controller via WiFi connection. Thus, there are a huge number devices could be connected to server. The advantage of the proposed system is that, an operating expense recording is attached to the server to record the electrical usage of devices. So, users can also setup controlling time according to their needs. The proposed system was to be tested using by Black-box method to observe the functionality. The result shows that the system run well with 0% error and can show the usage of electrical devices to predict the operational expense. © 2017 IEEE.
