Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of students’ understanding of the world of work, the level of professional skills of students, the level of awareness of the professional attitude of students after implementing PFM, know the role of supervising PKP on the ground in improving the professional skills of students, and determine the role of supervisor PKP in improving the professional skills of students in the practice of professions working with discovery learning method. The subjects were students DIV Engineering Automotive Safety Program. Data were collected by questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis techniques were used the descriptive analysis. The results showed (1) the level of student understanding after conducting PKP by 63.40% or show enough category. (2) the level of professional skills of students by 82.23% or higher indicates a category. (3) the level of awareness of the professional attitude of students is high, the level of achievement of 83,16%. (4) the role of supervisor PKP in the field is quite optimal in improving the professional skills of students, (5) the role of the supervisor PKP not optimal because there is still a role that has not been fully implemented by the supervisor PKP is handed students to the PKP and withdraw the student from the PKP. © 2017 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.
