Abstract

Since the penetration of environmental requirements, the power system operation is concerned to pay attention on the pollutant productions at thermal power plants for decreasing various emissions of the fossil burning together with reducing running charges of the fuel consumption. Technically, atmospheric emissions should be controlled economically at generating sites for 24 hours of the operation. In addition, the pollutant production is approached using a financial compensation in order to combine with the fuel fee as the total operating cost. This paper presents a new approach for integrating the pollutant discharge as the environmental participation into a dynamic economic power system operation and an evolutionary algorithm implementation to solve the problem. Moreover, the executions have been demonstrated in different performances depended on the load demand changes for 24 hours. Dynamically, these solutions have been also presented in different balanced consumptions between fuel and emission costs for the whole operation. © 2016 IEEE.
