Does entrepreneurial literacy correlate to the small-medium enterprises performance in Batu East Java?

Abstract

This present study aims at examining entrepreneurial literacy level of small-medium enterprises business actors and its correlation to the performances in Batu East Java. This study is an ex post facto correlational survey study utilizing sequential explanatory mix methods approach beginning with quantitative design and continuing further with qualitative design targeting on micro and medium business actors registered in Cooperatives and Small-Medium Enterprises Office of Batu. The survey result indicates that small-medium enterprises literacy regarding risk in Batu is considered high or well literate, while regarding functional aspects is considered moderately literate. Further, the results reveal no correlation between entrepreneurial literacy and the performance of small-medium enterprises business actors in Batu. To sum up, entrepreneurial literacy does not ensure the succeed of the SMEs. © 2018, Allied Business Academies.
